What a Halloween Sweets Buffet in Japan Looks Like (At Nankai Swissotel)
Updated October 31, 2021
I won a Sweets Buffet coupon from Nankai Swissotel during the summer, and I decided to use it for Halloween. It's not a review of the buffet, but I will comment on some of the sweets & food if I think it's worth commenting. I just wanted to share some cool photos I took of the sweets.
Also, completely not sponsored - I just got lucky :)
Here's a video of the buffet for a preview:
The buffet was great overall. Swissotel buffets never fails to impress us with the food. They always had really good savory foods in the past so I definitely expected nothing less, and this time they definitely didn't disappoint either.
This pork loin is blackened to fit the Halloween colours! The taste is wonderful and it's wonderfully tender. Best thing on the menu for sure.
They also had some pumpkin soup, which I didn't have a chance to try since I was so full from the delicious food. I wish I had the stomach for it though. Unfortunate! I'm sure it was some great pumpkin soup.
And there's the best Jack-o-Lantern display ever:
Now to the main event... DESSERTS.
Lots and lots of desserts. Yummmmm. Cakes, macarons, donuts, jelly and pudding are all on the menu:
Are they all super spooky and cute? I really enjoyed the Coffin Tiramisu and the Yellow Monster Carrot Cake the most. They were all very delicious of course. The problem with dessert buffets though is that the sweet taste can get really overwhelming, so you need to eat some savory foods to balance it... which then makes you full. A first world problem, truly.
A bonus section of the buffet - drinks sections:
What do you think of the food? Would you want to try these sweets?? Let me know!
I hope all of you are having a wonderful and fun Halloween.
Happy Halloween everyone!
